Our mission & values
What Guides the Table

Mission
Why we keep the table set
At The Humble Crumb, we believe a bakery should be more than a place to grab breakfast—it should be a place where neighbors become friends, conversations linger, and everyone feels at home. We are committed to serving handcrafted food with genuine hospitality, striving for excellence in all we do as an expression of our gratitude to God and our desire to reflect the love of Jesus. By caring well for our customers, our team, and our community, we hope to build a business that flourishes for years to come.
What we value
Five things we try to practice
Grit
We persevere, even when things get hard.
We believe good things are worth working for. We show up, work hard, and keep going when the work gets difficult.
Gratitude
We notice the good and express our thanks.
We are grateful for our customers, our community, our coworkers, and the opportunity to serve others. We don't take any of it for granted.
Efficiency
We work wisely and make the most of what we have.
We respect our time, our resources, and one another. We look for thoughtful ways to do things well without unnecessary waste.
Communication
We communicate clearly, honestly, and kindly.
Good communication builds trust. We listen, we speak with clarity, and we make sure people feel heard and understood.
Quality & Presentation
We believe the details matter.
We take pride in what we make and how we present it. From the first ingredient to the final presentation, we strive for excellence. Never sloppy.
With humility…
If we fall short, please tell us.
We know we won’t get everything right. We are a team of imperfect people who genuinely care about doing our work well and treating others with kindness and respect. If you ever experience something from us that falls short of the mission and values we’ve described here, we hope you’ll graciously let us know. We want to listen, learn, and make things right whenever we can. We’re grateful for the opportunity to grow together with our community.
